DOTHAN…. Mrs. Alisa Simmons Jackson, a resident of Dothan, died Saturday afternoon, January 30, 2021 in a Dothan hospital. She was 60.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the sanctuary of First Free Will Baptist Church of Dothan. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 3, 2021 in the First Free Will Baptist Church of Dothan with Reverend Josh Alderman officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Ozark. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. It is requested that all attending follow all COVID-19 Guidelines and restrictions including wearing masks and social distancing.

Alisa was born November 10, 1960 in Ozark, Alabama and was a 1979 Graduate of Carroll High School in Ozark. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Auburn University. Alisa was formerly employed with East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Dale Medical Center, Ozark, Flowers Hospital Home Health, Southeast Health Home Health and was currently the Branch Director of Encompass Home Care in Dothan. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Dothan where she was one of the pianists. Alisa was a very accomplished pianist using her talent as her ministry. She was devoted mother and wife who loved her entire family. Alisa was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Horace Simmons, mother, Helen Jeanette Hagler Weeks, and stepfather, Lavon Weeks.

Surviving relatives include her husband of twenty-two years, Bobby F. Jackson, Dothan; her son, Cole Maund, Dothan; two step-daughters, Angela Brannon (Timothy), Newton and Natalie Jackson (Eddie Donaldson, Jr.), Dothan; her aunt, Peggy Hagler Gunter, Ozark; special cousins, Shannon Harris (Jack), Skipperville and Lee Gunter, Ozark; four grandchildren, Emma King, Sue Ellen King, Lane Donaldson, and Abbie Brannon; mother-in-law, Marion Cook Jackson, Cottonwood; sister-in-law, Charlotte Allgood, Dothan and brother-in-law, Kenny Jackson (Cathy), Cottonwood; several nieces and nephews.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Timothy Brannon, Eddie Donaldson, Jeffrey Jackson, Dave Crocker, Gerald Buntyn, and Caleb Knight.
