Bernice Wallace Henderson, a resident of Newnan, Georgia, formerly of Ozark, died Wednesday afternoon, April 4, 2018 in Newnan, Georgia. She was 81.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 6, 2018, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Reverend Harry Circle and Reverend Scott Thompson officiating. Entombment will follow in the Woodlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Friday in the church sanctuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church Building Fund, 1971 Deese Road, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
Mrs. Henderson, daughter of the late John Clayton Wallace and Sara Frances Skipper Wallace, was a native of Dale County and moved to Newnan, Georgia in 2017. She was retired from Dale Medical Center as a Surgical Sterile Technician after twenty years of employment. Following her retirement, she was a volunteer at the hospital. Mrs. Henderson was an active member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Ozark. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilford Henderson; four brothers, Howard Wallace, Sam Wallace, Horace Wallace and Jimmy Wallace.
Surviving relatives include a son, Eddy Henderson (Deedie), Ozark; three daughters, Debby Henderson (John Phillips), Newnan, Georgia; Lisa Glenn, Marietta, Georgia and Angie St. John (Richard), Evans, Georgia; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Ronald Wright, John Phillips, Richard St. John, Chris Meadows, Payne St. John and Thomas Farrar.
