BLOUNTSTOWN, FL…Mr. Bobby G. Sanders, a resident of Blountsville, FL (formerly of Ozark), died early Thursday afternoon, June 2, 2022, in a Panama City, FL hospital. He was 73.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 5, 2022, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Joe Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Rocky Head Community. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Sanders, son of the late Ray Raymond Sanders and Bessie Catherine Garner Sanders, was a native of the Arguta Community, near Ozark. He attended Carroll High School in Ozark. Mr. Sanders was formerly employed with Buck Turner Logging Company in Ozark and Circle City Trucking Company in Dothan as a truck driver. He moved to Blountstown, Florida in 1992 and was employed with K.P. Green Logging. Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Gallaspie and Sandra Atkinson; two brothers, Jimmy Sanders and Billy Sanders.
Surviving relatives include his wife of fifty-four years, Sherry Clark Sanders, Blountstown, FL; four daughters, Jula Smith, Brundidge, Gena Jackson (Jerry), Illinois, Joni Lambeth (Aaron), Blountstown, Jodi Sanders (Williams Robinson); a son, Bobby R. Sanders, Blountstown; six sisters, Linda Madrid (Floyd), Ozark, Patricia Robinson (Harry), Millie Drum, all of Minnesota, Deborah Sanders, Ozark, Omega Garrett (Eugene), Georgia and Clarissa Lamarr (Tony), Wisconsin; two brothers, Jeffrey Wayne Sanders and John Benson Sanders, both of Ozark; eight grandchildren, Joshua Smith, Taylor Smith, Rhett Sanders, Bobbie Ann Sanders, Jerry Murphy, Caleb Lambeth, Gavin Lambeth, and Dean Monroe Sanders-Robinson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
