Carolyn Kathleen Snellgrove, age 70, died August 10, 2018 at Dale Medical Center, Ozark due to complications from surgery. From her birth in Midland City, Alabama on August 24, 1947 to her death on Friday, Carolyn nourished people around her with love, faith and encouragement. Carolyn was the oldest of four children, learning instruction techniques and child management skills at an early age. She was trained as a nurse and worked as a day care provider to a multitude of children for over 30 years, showing that her mission in life was in service to others. Her faith was the foundation of her life. She was a member of Ozark First Assembly church for over 35 years and taught Sunday School at the Oakview Manor Health Care Center for over 20 years.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Darrell Snellgrove. Left to honor and remember her love are her two children Lee Waller of Ariton, Alabama and Vena Kay Fischer (Tim) of Topeka, Indiana; one grandchild Tina Marie Fischer; two brothers David Phillip Anderson of Decatur, Alabama and Tolton Anderson (Belinda) of Dothan, Alabama; one sister Susan Hardgrave of Huntsville, Alabama; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will remember her light and love.
Visitation services will be held from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. Sunday, August 11th at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home, 508 Faust Avenue, Ozark, Alabama. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 12th in the Ozark First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Greg Doss officiating. Burial will follow in Old Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery, Hwy. 51, New Brockton. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. All friends and family are invited to attend to help celebrate the life and love of Carolyn.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Ozark First Assembly of God Church, 170 Country Club Drive, Ozark, AL 36360 or to Oakview Manor Health Care Center, 929 Mixon School Road, Ozark, AL 36360.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Jason Parker, Mike Riley, Max Corbit, Terry Watkins, Chip Anderson, and David Graves.
