Charles H Coots, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away on August 28, 2023, in Mobile, Alabama. He was born on May 27, 1945, in Jeffrey, West Virginia to James Coots and Agnes Pearl Denny Coots.
Charles led an accomplished life as an electrician with Teledyne Industries for twenty years before retiring. He dedicated his time and expertise to his work with great passion and commitment. His hard work and dedication were highly respected by his colleagues and the industry alike. Charles's career contributed significantly to the field of electrical engineering, leaving a lasting impact that will be remembered for years to come.
In addition to his professional achievements, Charles served in the United States Army with honor and pride. His military service reflects his patriotism and commitment to serving his country. Charles's selflessness in defending the nation is a testament to his courage and love for his fellow citizens.
Beyond his professional and military endeavors, Charles had a wide range of interests that brought him joy throughout his life. He was an avid woodworker who took great pleasure in crafting intricate pieces with his skilled hands. Whether it was repairing broken items or tinkering with old cars, Charles possessed an innate talent for fixing anything that needed repair. These hobbies ignited his creativity and allowed him to express himself in unique ways.
Charles's warm personality endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a kind-hearted man who always made time for others. His genuine care for people extended not only to family and friends but also to strangers who crossed his path.
Charles will be deeply missed by his surviving family members: his loving wife Jewel Bell Coots; their daughter Melissa Darlene Caldwell (Richard); their sons Craig Allen Coots and Charles Dewayne Coots; his sister Judy Wise; his brothers Kennard Coots and Danny Coots; and his grandchildren Jay Macalah Ward, Raeli Anne Ward, Porcelain Aleeya Ward, Guenivier Elise Ward, and Mathis Ray Flores. Each of them harbors cherished memories of Charles that will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents James Coots and Agnes Pearl Denny Coots, as well as his beloved daughter Camilla Gwen Coots. He was also preceded by his brothers William Coots, Clyde Coots, Bob Coots, Jack Coots, Jimmy Coots, Kenneth Coots, and Sherril Gene Coots. Their memories will be kept alive through the stories shared and the love felt by those who were fortunate to have known them.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, September 9, 2023, in the Wesley Chapel Community Church, near Echo. Burial will follow in the Bell’s Crossroads Cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M. Saturday at the church.
Charles H Coots filled the lives of those around him with joy and left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. His dedication to his work, his unwavering commitment to his country, and his loving nature will forever be remembered. As we mourn the loss of a remarkable individual, we also celebrate the legacy he leaves behind – one of love, compassion, and dedication that serves as an inspiration to us all.
