ARITON…Mr. Charles W. Sutton, a resident of Ariton, died Monday morning, February 7, 2022, in Dale Medical Center. He was 85.
In keeping with the wishes of the family, there are no public services planned at this time. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Sutton, son of the late William Newton Sutton, Jr. and Cleffie Belle Smith Sutton, was a native and lifelong resident of the Ariton area. He was retired from Ft. Rucker as an aircraft mechanic after forty-two years of employment. Mr. Sutton enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and was a dedicated N.R.A. member. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Nell Porath and Beatrice Gesner.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Agnes Marie Hartzog Sutton, Ariton; a daughter, Beverly Hartzog (Tommy), Ariton; three grandchildren, Dave Hartzog (Julie), Amber Hartzog, and Zane Hartzog (Kasey); great-grandson, David; special nieces and nephews, Joseph Porath, David Porath, Deanna Porath, James Porath ( Julie), Kevin Porath, Cynthia Gesner-Hinson, Kris Porath, Marc Porath, Leanna Porath, Lori Porath, and Wanda Edwards.
