OZARK… Ms. Debra “Debbie” Elaine Walters, a resident of Ozark, died Tuesday afternoon, February 16, 2021 at the home of her son. She was 65.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 21, 2021 in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Shane Traylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. All COVID-19 Guidelines and restrictions will be followed during all scheduled times.

Ms. Walters, daughter of the late Henry Verhoeff and Katherine Thompson Verhoeff, was a native of Ozark. She raised her family in Mississippi and returned to Ozark in 2013. Ms. Walters retired from the Dale County Courthouse Tag Office in 2020. She was an avid Auburn Football Fan. Ms. Walters was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Mercer.
Surviving relatives include her children, Kayla Johnson (Daniel), Hattiesburg, MS, Brett Walters, Laurel, MS, and Eric Walters (Brooke), Ozark; her brother, Bobby Syples (Eva), Ozark; three grandchildren, Kara Walters, Paige Walters, Samantha Johnson and one on the way.
