OZARK…Mr. Edward “Eddie the Tank” Gissendanner, a resident of Ozark, died late Tuesday evening in the emergency room of Dale Medical Center. He was 56.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 22, 2024 in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Boyd Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in the Johntown Community Cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Edward Gissendanner (Tank, Bone Crusher, Big Eddie) was born February 1, 1968 to the late Eddie and Elinda Gissendanner in Ozark, Alabama.
Eddie attended Ozark City Schools and graduated from Carroll High School, where he played football. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and pulling for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Gissendanner; mother, Elinda Gissendanner; daughter, Jasmine D. Gissendanner; sister, Patricia Gissendanner; father-in-law, Larry March; step father-in-law, Dillard Beaty; brother-in-law, Larry O. March Jr.; and great nephew, Julio Horne.
There are many left to cherish his memory, including his wife, Michelle March Gissendanner; granddaughter, Abigail Ja'Chelle Clark; siblings, Dorothy, Charlene, Nonna, Ronnie, Tracey, and Elizabeth (Donnie); mother-in-law, Lillie Beaty; sisters-in-law, Sofia (Jay) Savoy and Kimberly (Antonio) Walton; and a host of other family members and friends.
