PINCKARD…Mr. Emmett D. “Andy” Anderson, a resident of Pinckard, died late Tuesday morning, March 1, 2022, in a Dothan hospital. He was 80.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday, March 3, 2022, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Anderson, son of the late D.G. Anderson and Amelia Carpenter Anderson, was a native of Geneva County, near Samson. He formerly lived in Texas and Louisiana before moving to Pinckard in 1995. Mr. Anderson was in the restaurant business for over forty-five years and he owned and operated Andy’s Restaurant in Newton for twenty years. He also owned and operated Andy’s Tire Store in Midland City for seven years. Mr. Anderson served his country in the Army National Guard in earlier years. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Joan McGowan and a brother, Eris L. Douglas Anderson.
Surviving relatives include his wife of twenty-seven years, Beth Gissendaner Anderson; his children, Teresa Garner (Pete), Connie Crittendon (Bubba), Freddie Anderson, Jackie Wilburn, Rebecca West, John Greene, Elizabeth Roberts (Sherman), Jaimie Zoll, Sarah Forrester, and Kaitlyn (Katiebug) Anderson; sixteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
