Harry Lemonte, Jr.

OZARK…. Harry LeMonte, Jr., (CW4, U.S. Army, Retired), a resident of Ozark, died late Monday evening, October 29, 2018 in Dale Medical Center. He was 90.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 3, 2018 in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Charles Goldsmith officiating. Graveside services, with full military honors, will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens.
Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. LeMonte, son of the late Harry McKinley LeMonte and Ida Belle Garbrandt LeMonte, was a native of Dennison, Ohio. He joined the Merchant Marines in 1946 at the age of sixteen and joined the United States Army in 1948.
Mr. LeMonte served twenty-eight years in the United States Army, which consisted of two tours in Vietnam and a total of fourteen years overseas. In October 1968, he made his home in Ozark and became an Instructor Pilot at Ft. Rucker until 1974. Following his retirement, he also worked with Copter Pest Control in Ozark. Mr. LeMonte was known for his "faces in the trees" on Deese Road. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Connie Flater and ten brothers and sisters.

Surviving relatives include his wife of seventy-two years, Elisabeth Sageder LeMonte, Ozark; two daughters, Maria King and Sandra Chon (Oscar), both of Ozark; three sons, Robert LeMonte (Lucy), David LeMonte (Julie), all of Ozark and Harry LeMonte (Rachel), Michigan;
his sister, Clara Clark, Texas; fourteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
