ASBURY COMMUNITY…. Mrs. Helen Elisabeth Riggs, a resident of the Asbury Community, near Ozark, died Friday evening, January 15, 2021 at her home. She was 92.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. (E.T.), Wednesday, January 20, 2021 in the Barnesville Ebenezer United Methodist Church, near Zebulon, Georgia with Reverend Jim Hill officiating. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
Mrs. Riggs was born November 13, 1928 in Yugoslavia and moved to Cincinnati, OH in 1952. She formerly lived in Loveland, OH and Atlanta, GA before moving to Ozark in 2015. Mrs. Riggs was retired from Ford Motor Company in Sharonville, OH as a Quality control inspector. She enjoyed raising exotic birds, Pomeranians, and being in her garden growing flowers. Mrs. Riggs was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, near Ozark. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nikolaus Feisthammel and Maria Sadorf Feisthammel; her husband, Ernest J. Riggs and two brothers, Nikolaus Feisthammel and Erwin Feisthammel.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Pat Blackburn (James), Ozark; two sons, Carl Buchenau (Debbie), Amelia, OH and Sighelm Buchenau (Sylvia), Goshen, OH; her sister, Irene Lupp, Cincinnati, OH; seven grandchildren, Tammy Curran (Kevin), Tina Barrett, Brandi Buchenau, Tessa Jowers (Joshua), Angela Weed (Lucas), Katie White Youssef (Joseph), and Amber Boozer (Keith); twelve great-grandchildren, Bryce Curran, Brooks Curran, Kody Barrett, Grace Oliver, Jordan Juilfs, Evan Jowers, Josie Jowers, Wyatt Weed, Jonas Weed, Liam Youssef, Cecily Boozer, and Waylon Boozer.
The family would like to thank two very special caregivers, Adeline Slater and Liz Coleman, for their loving care and kindness shown to Mrs. Riggs and her family.
