DOTHAN… Ivan Jerome Ott (“Jerome”), husband, father, son, and brother died on March 13, 2023. Jerome was a resident of Dothan, AL. Jerome was born on October 21, 1959, the same birthdate as his mother, Shelby Jean Ott, and left this earth on the same day as his mother, March 13.
A Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Sunday, March 26, 2023 in Greystone United Methodist Church with Pastor Teresa Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:30 P.M. Sunday at the church. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.
Jerome was preceded in death by his parents, James Woodrow and Shelby Jean Ott of Dothan, AL; his in-laws, George and Irene Cronk of Pinckard, AL; his maternal grandparents, Ivan Howard and Gussie Mildred Phillips of Clio, AL; his paternal grandparents, Harmon Thomas and Francis Elizabeth Ott of Dothan, AL; his sister, Paula Kaye Mooneyham White of West Monroe, LA; his uncle, Bobby Gene Faulk of Eufaula, AL; his aunt and uncle, Annette and Lew Galloway of Dothan, AL; and his cousin, Donna Hall of Dothan, AL.
Jerome was born in Fort Rucker, AL and attended local schools in Dothan and Rehobeth. Jerome married the love of his life, Rebecca Susan Cronk Ott (“Becky”), on January 12, 1990, and recently celebrated 33 years of marriage. Jerome enjoyed hunting for arrowheads and long days with a fishing pole in his hand. He enjoyed laughing and loved to share the most recent joke he had heard. He and Becky traveled many years to the races at Talladega with their favorite driver being Dale Earnhardt. Of course, the roar of Roll Tide was often heard in their home during college football season.
Left to cherish his memories include his loving wife, Becky of Dothan, AL; children Jason Ott (Stacy) of Headland, AL, Keisha Massey and Ivan Jerome Ott II both of Dothan, AL; grandchildren Sydney and Penelope Ott of Headland, AL and Shelby Ott of Dothan, AL; sister, Sonja Jean Keeton (Robert) of Birmingham, AL; aunt, Blanche Elaine Faulk of Eufaula, AL; cousins, Deborah Pillivant of Dothan, AL, Greg Spivey of Lake Park, GA, Monica Delaine Faulk of Eufaula, AL, DeAnna Shelley of Dothan, AL and Phillip Byran Faulk (Kim) of Page, AZ; brother-in-law, Brian White of West Monroe, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
