NEWTON…Mrs. Janice Watson Walker, a resident of Newton, died late Sunday evening, July 7, 2024, in a Dothan hospital. She was 64.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 10, 2024, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Griggs officiating and a eulogy to be given by her nephew, Jordan Watson. Burial will follow in Newton City Cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Janice was born August 30, 1959, in Newton, Alabama where she lived most of her lifetime. She was a 1978 Graduate of Dale County High School in Midland City. Janice was employed with the Piggly Wiggly in Ozark as the Deli Manager for several years. She will always be remembered as “The Glue” that kept everyone together. Janice enjoyed riding motorcycles with her husband, Keith, painting, and woodworking. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas J. “Tom” Watson, mother-in-law, Helen Walker, and stepfather, Hershel Creamer.
Surviving relatives include her husband of thirty-four years, Keith L. Walker, Newton; two daughters, Crystal Hand (Justin), Newton and Ashley Walker, Napier Field; two sons, David Webb, Newton and Josh Walker, Napier Field; mother, Frances Rachel Creamer, Newton; mom, Elaine Watson, Newton; father-in-law, Charles Walker, Dothan; two brothers, Tony Watson (Donna) and Tommy Watson (Darlene), all of Newton; eight grandchildren, Cassie Webb, Blake Webb, Austin Webb, Destiny Webb, Elijah Webb, Shelby Hand, Hayden Hand, and Connor Hand; two great-grandchildren, Bentley Wilcox and Waylon Hines; step-sisters, Lisa Miller (Danny) and Lindy Armstrong, all of Newton; brother-in-law, Wayne Walker (Cindy), Midland City; sister-in-law, Kimberly Campbell, Napier Field; her loving fur babies, Kirby and Bella; several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Jordan Watson, Day Day Webb, Blake Webb, Connor Hand, Hayden Hand, and Matt Chin.
