Jeanette Johnson, of Ozark, AL, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017. She was 86.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 12:00pm, in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with Dr. Billy Gaither officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memory Gardens in Ozark with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00am until service time.
Mrs. Johnson was born June 10, 1931 and was a life-long resident of Dale County. She graduated from Dale County High School in 1949. Jeanette was a member of Bethel Methodist Church in the Echo community and was a substitute teacher for several years at various Ozark City Schools.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, John D. Johnson; her parents, Tommy and Suzie Gilmer; brothers, Dewey, Orbie and James Gilmer; sisters, Mary Lou Carroll and Dorothy Pertusi.
She is survived by her sons, Wade Johnson (Totsy), John Dennis Johnson (Debbie), of Ozark, and James Michael Johnson (Diane) of Mobile; six grandchildren, Kenny Johnson of Montgomery, Teresa Fortier of Ocean Springs, MS., Nichole Prestwood and Denny Johnson of Ozark, and Brittany Kimbrough and Daniel Johnson of Mobile; eight great-grandchildren, Trent Johnson, Owen Johnson, Logan Fortier, Greyson Fortier, Danny Jo Prestwood, Paisley Kimbrough, Grant Kimbrough and Zoey Murphy .
Pallbearers for the service will be Denny Johnson, Kenny Johnson, Bryant Kimbrough, Daniel Johnson, Sean Fortier, and Dan Prestwood. Honorary Pallbearers will be Greyson Fortier, Logan Fortier, Owen Johnson, and Grant Kimbrough.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Westside Terrace in Dothan. We would also like to recognize her very special friend, Dot Carroll.
