OZARK…..Joaquin R. "Jack" Reyes (Captain, U.S. Army, Retired), a resident of Ozark, died Wednesday afternoon, January 24, 2018 in a Dothan hospital. He was 89.
Memorial services were held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, January 29, 2018 in the St. John Catholic Church in Ozark. Graveside services, with full military honors, followed in
Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Reyes, son of the late Sixto Reyes and Benigna Ramos Reyes, was a native of Naguabo, Puerto Rico and has lived in Ozark for the past fifty years. He was retired from
the United States Army as a rotary wing and fixed wing pilot at the rank of Captain. Mr. Reyes enlisted in the Army during World War II and served two tours in Korea and
one tour in Vietnam. During his long distinguished military career, he received many awards and medals which included the Bronze Star, Air Medal w/34 OLC, Army
Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal (2nd Award), American Theater Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service
Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, United Nations Korea Medal, and Senior Army Aviator. He owned and operated
Reyes Realty in Ozark from 1970 until 1985 at which time he switched his focus to land development in Ozark. Mr. Reyes was an active member of the Ozark Area Chamber
of Commerce, served on the Board of Directors of the Army Aviation Museum at Ft. Rucker, member of the A.U.S.A. where he received the title of honorary Major General,
and a member of the Ozark Optimus Club. He was a member of the St. John Catholic Church in Ozark and was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Brendleberger Reyes.
Survivors include his daughter, Susie Reyes LeMoine (Colonel U.S. Army, Retired, Bruce LeMoine), Ft. Worth, TX; a son, Ralph Reyes, Ozark; three grandchildren, Megan
Reyes Hobson (Shan), Hunter LeMoine and Bruce LeMoine; including several brothers and sisters.
