SHERMAN, TX…. John Earl Yance, II, a resident of Sherman, TX, formerly of Ozark, died Saturday, February 17, 2018 in Dallas, Texas following a long battle with cancer. He was 52.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 25, 2018 in Chalkhead Baptist Church with Reverend Kenneth Hale officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the church cemetery. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. in the church sanctuary.
John was a native of Ozark, Alabama and was a graduate of Carroll High School. He served his country in the United States Navy and was previously employed as a salesman with Hoyte Dodge in Texas. John was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Ingram Yance and his sister, Dawn Yance.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Michelle Jansen Yance; two daughters, Lauren Yance, Provo, Utah and Sterling Yance, Sherman, Texas; three sons, Brett Yance (Amy), Seth Yance, Major Yance, all of Sherman, Texas; his father, Earl Yance, Ozark; father-in-law, Rob Jansen, Sherman, Texas.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Phillip Parker, Craig Pylant, Bert Maund, Steve Knox, Freddie Ingram, Jack Ingram, and Chase Ingram.
The family would like to thank the Baylor-Scott Cancer Center for their loving care they gave to John during his illness.
