Judy Howell Coots, of Ozark, passed away, Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017 following an extended illness. She was 69.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Newton City Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 on Tuesday prior to service time.
Mrs. Coots was born on December 31, 1947 in Dale County to Edsel and Ruth Gunner Howell. She traveled extensively with her husband during his career residing in Florida, Texas and Tennessee before coming back home to Ozark 12 years ago. She was a skilled seamstress and an avid reader of the gospel. Judy enjoyed writing her children's book series about "Princess Popcorn" and loved riding her Harley. More than anything else, she loved her family and will be dearly missed.
Judy is predeceased by her parents and a sister, Barbara Dale Boynton.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Roger Coots of Ozark; a son, Ashley Barker; a step-son, Roger Sean Coots; a sister, Roxie (Bill) Riley and a brother, Eddie Howell, all of Ozark.
