OZARK…. Kenneth L. “Ken” Butler (CW5, United States Army, Retired), a resident of Ozark, died Thursday morning, June 13, 2019 in a Dothan hospital. He was 77.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 17, 2019 in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel with Bishop Steve Jones officiating. Graveside services, with full military honors, will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Butler, son of the late Alfred Butler and Joann Dohm Butler, was born in Michigan. He lived in Nevada and various locations during his military service. After retiring from the United States Army, he worked with Fixed Wing Organization at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama and moved to Ozark in 2017. Mr. Butler received numerous medals, decorations, and honors during his military service, including the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Bronze Star, Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces Honor Medal, Army Aviator Badge, Ranger Tab and many others.
Surviving relatives include his loving wife, Ramona Mitchell Butler, Ozark; his children and step-children; two brothers, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
