OZARK… Mr. Kenneth Ray Glass (SFC., U.S. Army, Retired), a resident of Ozark, died early Saturday evening, April 2, 2022, in a Dothan hospital. He was 82.
Funeral services, with military honors, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 7, 2022, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with his brother-in-law, Kenneth Weisensale officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Glass, son of the late Claude Rankin Glass and Vivian Ruth Walling Glass, was a native of Houston, Texas. He was a Vietnam Veteran and was retired from the United States Army. Mr. Glass received a master’s degree in Psychology and Business Administration, both from Troy State University. He also owned and operated Ken’s Wood Nook, a woodworking shop, in Ozark. In earlier years, he was the Director of a residential treatment program for teenagers in Dothan operated by Wiregrass Community Mental Health Center. Mr. Glass served as Vice President, President of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 373, and was also appointed to the Alabama State Board of Veterans Affairs by the Governor of Alabama. He was always there to welcome a soldier home and offer guidance to any of his fellow soldiers. His compassion and kindness was not only for soldiers but for anyone he knew. Mr. Glass was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryker Lampley; siblings, Freddy Glass, Bonita Weisensale, Bill Glass, Herbert Glass, and Joyce Hoffman.
Surviving relatives include his wife of sixty-two years, Jo-Ann Weisensale Glass, Ozark; his children, Mike Glass (Denise), Donna LoBello (Steven), Kenneth Glass (Susie), Vic Glass, Jennifer Glass, and Allen Glass (Jennifer); grandchildren, Marcia Pelczar (Chris), Tommy Williams (Julie), Shannon Buckingham (Shawn), Shellie Smail (Frankie), Victoria Galvan (David), Kathryn Metcalf, Daniel LoBello, David LoBello, Joshua (Alasia), Jeremy (Kristen), Buddy, Justin, Brittany Lampley (Jonathan), Lisa Tyler (Kyndall), Zachery, Dillan Tatum, Tara Tatum, Jade Blaxton, and Aubrey; great grandchildren, Ashley, Ryder, Phebe, Nolan, Lucas, Ryan, Jonathan, Devan, Isabella, Tori, Julianna, Dominic, Braileigh, Charlie, Luna, Alaura, Gabe, Katelynn, and Aubrey.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons.
