Kenneth Gene McDonald, Sr., February 17th, 1941 - August 6th, 2018
Mr. McDonald was preceded in Death by his wife of 48 years, Linda Bill Johnston McDonald of Ozark, Alabama.
Born in Pontotoc, MS of his parents, James Elzie McDonald and Ena Marie Davidson-McDonald, and having eight siblings and their families, Corbet and Kathlynn Plunk Ponotoc, MS, Lake and Geraldine Russell Ponotoc, MS, Laron and Opal Self, Ponotoc, MS, JD and Larue Moore, Hornlake, MS, Elzie and Mary McDonald. Clarksdale, MS, Carol and Dorothy McDonald, Pheonix City, AL, Okee and Barbara McDonald, Ponotoc, MS, Joyce McDonald, Ponotoc, MS.
He leaves behind two sons, Kenneth Gene McDonald, Jr. of Ozark, Alabama, Michael "Todd" McDonald of Gainesville, Florida; Grandchildren, Gene McDonald, Gainesville, FL, James McDonald, Gainesville, FL, Kimberlee McDonald, Clearwater, FL; Great Grandchildren, Kaelob McDonald, Gainesville, FL, Olivia McDonald, Gainesville, FL.
Upon Graduation from High School, he served his Country in the U.S. Army from June 2nd, 1959 to June 1st, 1962. Then transferred to Army Reserve June 2nd, 1962 to April 27th, 1965. He was then, reactivated April 28th, 1965 to September 5th, 1966.
Kenneth Sr. was a long-time resident, and an active participant within the community of Ozark, Alabama. He worked at Brown Manufacturing as an inventive welder and machinist for 40 years until his retirement.
After his retirement, he increased his dedication to serving his community. He served any way that he could until his passing. He will be sorely missed by one and all.
Funeral Services will be 2PM Thursday, August 9, 2018 in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel of Fuqua Bankston Funeral in Ozark, AL. with Rev. John Goldman officiating.
