NEWTON…Mr. Larry H. Williams, a resident of Newton, died early Tuesday afternoon, December 10, 2024, in a Dothan hospital. He was 70.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 12, 2024, in Newton First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Tommy Giddens, Brother Ken Poe, Pastor Mike Griggs, and Mr. Bimbo Turner officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the church. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Newton First Assembly of God Church, 147 Edwards Street, Newton, Alabama 36352.
Mr. Williams, son of the late Herman Reders Williams and Annie Merle Griffin Williams, was a native and lifelong resident of Newton. He was a 1972 Graduate of Dale County High School and was retired from Fort Rucker after forty-six years of employment with Civil Service. Mr. Williams was an active member of Newton First Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Williams also enjoyed keeping in touch with his work family and his classmates from Dale County High School. Some of his favorite times were spent outdoors and bowling with Newton First Assembly Bowling League. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by a sister, Kaye Johnson.
Surviving relatives include his wife of fifty years, Karen Hughes Williams, Newton; daughter, Karie Williams, Dothan; two sons, Brad Williams (Brittany Hand Matthews), Newton and Travis Williams (Nichole), Hartford; sister, Ann Delaney, Newton; three grandchildren, Karoline Striplin, Hadley Williams, and Hudson Williams; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
