Lela Shirley Folmar, a resident of Ozark, died Saturday morning, April 7, 2018 in Dale Medical Center. She was 97.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 9, 2018 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Reverend Jim Hill and Reverend Scott Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Monday in the church sanctuary.

Mrs. Folmar, daughter of the late N.C. Shirley and Carrie Belle Floyd Shirley, was a native of Luverne, Alabama and lived most of her lifetime in Ozark. She was an active member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church where she served as the church organist for over thirty years. Mrs. Folmar was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Folmar, Sr., three sisters, and seven brothers.
Surviving relatives include three sons, Sam Davis Folmar, Jr (Beverly), Dothan, David Max Folmar (Becky), Ozark, and Stephen Floyd Folmar (Karyn), Canton, Georgia; five grandchildren, Ashley Folmar, Jennifer Sanders (Mark), Trey Folmar (Rebecca), Christian Folmar (Dusti) and Carrie-Nell Jessop (Bo); eight great grandchildren; special lifelong friend, Mrs. Jean Beverly, Ozark.
