BROWN’S CROSSROADS COMMUNITY…Mr. Lomax Willis, a resident of the Brown’s Crossroads Community, near Ozark, died late Wednesday afternoon, September 18, 2024, at his home. He was 85.

 Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 22, 2024, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend John Brannon and Mr. Mitchell Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Ewell Community Cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

 Mr. Willis, son of the late Jeff Z. Willis and Ethel Carraway Willis, was a native and lifelong resident of the Brown’s Crossroads Community of Dale County. He retired from Brown Manufacturing after fifty-four years of employment. Mr. Willis was very talented and enjoyed singing, dancing, and entertaining. He attended Mt. Carmel Church. Mr. Willis was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Wiggins Willis, daughter, Sherry Tharpe, son-in-law, Shannon Wambles, stepson, Greg Stinson, several brothers and sisters including, Sam Willis, Harley J. Willis, and Leon Gerald “Bud” Willis.

 Surviving relatives include his wife, Jeanette Harris Willis, Brown’s Crossroads Community; daughter, Nancy Rene Brock (Lee), Enterprise; two sons, Gary Willis, Headland and Wes Stinson (Theresa), Troy; sister, Anita Gunter, Brown’s Crossroads Community; eleven grandchildren, Stacy Tharpe (Laura), Jessica Harden (Cole), Dane Willis (Taylor), Will Brock (Rexanna), Madison Brock, Makenzie Willis, Cole Stinson, Malloy Stinson, Tory Richter (Dusty), Caleb Stinson, and Ethan Stinson; six great-grandchildren, Max Tharpe, Baylor Harden, Rowen Richter, Rhett Richter, Mari Stinson, and Nikki Stinson; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 Serving as active pallbearers will be Will Brock, Dane Willis, Ben Willis, Lee Brock, Gary Swearingen, and Keith Tharpe.
