Mr. Luther Edward Howle of Ozark passed away at his residence Sunday, August 20, 2017. He was 79.
Graveside services will be at 1:00pm, Wednesday, August 23, 2017, in the Mt. Vernon Community Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Alabama. Chaplain John Gunter will be officiating. A visitation for close friends and family will be held at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home in Ozark, Alabama, from 8:00am until 8:45am, Wednesday, August 23, 2017.
Mr. Howle was a native of Mobile, Alabama and later moved to Pensacola, Florida where he worked with Barnes Grocery as produce manager. After many years with this company, he moved to Ozark where he worked in produce at the Grocery Outlet until his full retirement. Although he had no children of his own, Luther (Buddy as he was affectionately referred to) loved and enjoyed seeing the general public.
Mr. Howle was preceded in death by his mother, Mattie Bell (Walker) Howell, his father, Robert E. Howell, and his sister, Linda R. Duke.
He is survived by his brother, Jimmy F. Howell (Becky) of Opelika, Alabama and his sister, Martha J. Piper of Ozark, Alabama. He is also survived by his nephews, Ricky Wharton (Toni) of Mobile, Alabama, Red Piper (Kay) and Duke Piper (Leigha) of Ozark, Alabama; great nieces, Scarlett Sewell (Heath) and Ariel Wharton (Mark Smiley, fiancé) of Mobile, Alabama; great nephews, Jordan Orso of Mobile, Alabama, Zach Piper (Mandi) and Dusty Piper (Meagan, fiancé) of Ozark, Alabama, and Jake Piper of Pensacola, Florida; great-great nephew, Wyatt Lee H. Piper.
Pallbearers for the service will be Ricky Wharton, Red Piper, Duke Piper, Zach Piper, Dusty Piper and Jake Piper.
