Mary Boyd

OZARK… Mrs. Mary Kate Boyd, a resident of Ozark, died late Monday morning, April 25, 2022, in a Dothan hospital. She was 77.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 29, 2022, in the Lighthouse Church in Ozark with Pastor Terry Threats officiating. Burial will follow in Carroll Cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The body will lie in state from 10:00 until 2:00 P.M. Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lighthouse Church Mission Fund, c/o, PO Box 2422, Ozark, AL 36361.

Mrs. Boyd was born November 12, 1944, and grew up in the Opp and Brantley, Alabama area. She moved to Ozark in 1968 and in 1969 along with her husband, founded the Lighthouse Church. Mrs. Boyd was a true “Pastors Wife” serving with her husband for over fifty years. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Kay Meeks, and her parents.

Surviving relatives include her husband of fifty-six years, Reverend Farrell Boyd, Ozark; her children, Donna Diane Ryan (Phillip) and Farrell Benny Boyd, Jr.; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Serving as active pallbearers will be James Thomas, Mike Jensen, Kevin Boyd, Jason Meeks, Andrew Ryan, Duncan Boyd, Bobby Searcy, and Justin Mangum.
