NEWTON…Mrs. Mary Scott Glenn, a resident of Newton, died late Saturday afternoon, March 15, 2025, in a Dothan hospital. She was 95.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Newton City Cemetery with Reverend Shane Traylor officiating. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside services.
Mrs. Glenn was a resident of Newton for seventy years and a longtime member of Newton Baptist Church and the Newton Ruritan Club. She dedicated over twenty years of service to the United Education profession. Mrs. Glenn was a graduate of Ariton High School and attended Riley Business College in Montgomery. Over the years, Mrs. Glenn supported her husband in his decades of service with the Newton Masonic Lodge and Southeast Alabama Rural Health Association (SARHA). Mrs. Glenn was a devoted and beloved wife, mother, friend and neighbor.
Mrs. Glenn was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Raymond Scott and Annie Jane Chapman Scott; husband of nearly seventy years, Muriel Max Glenn; siblings Kathleen Cook, Louise Walls, Elaine Woodard, Travis Scott, Grace Jacobs, and Frank Scott.
Surviving relatives include her two sons, Michael Glenn, Montgomery and Daniel Glenn (Susan), Hartford; granddaughter Danielle Glenn Montoya (Matthew); great-granddaughter Meredith Anne Montoya; brother, Dean Scott (Barbara), Ozark; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
