OZARK…. Mrs. Mary Herring Strickland, a resident of Ozark, died early Friday morning, May 14, 2021 in an Ozark nursing home. She was 81.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 17, 2021 at Campground Baptist Church with Pastor Merrell Henry officiating. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Campground Baptist Church, 3898 Andrews Avenue, Ozark, AL 36360.
Mrs. Strickland, daughter of the late Lewis Webster Herring and Mamie Lillian Teal Herring, was a native of Dale County and lived most of her lifetime in Ozark. She was formerly employed with Harvest Free Will Baptist Church as a daycare worker. Mrs. Strickland was a member of Campground Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Wilkerson and Max Strickland; son, Robert F. Wilkerson; two sisters, Myrtis Smith and Jimmie Ruth Miller; four brothers, Marion L. Herring, James Nelson Herring, Eugene Herring, and Lewie Frank Herring.
Surviving relatives include several nieces and nephews, including Robert Miller (Vivian), Ozark.
