NEWTON…. Michael Childree, a resident of Newton, died Thursday evening, July 12, 2018, at his home. He was 66.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 15, 2018 in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel with Reverend Shane Traylor officiating. Burial will follow in Newton City Cemetery. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of his mother, Myrtice Glisson Childree Parrish in Newton.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Newton Baptist Church, P.O. Box 97, Newton, AL 36352.
Mr. Childree was a native and lifelong resident of Newton and was a 1971 Graduate of Dale County High School. He owned and operated Childree Heating & Cooling for many years. Mr. Childree was preceded in death by his father, Frank Childree; two brothers-in-law, George Hagler and Jimmy Stokes; nephew, Ben Mitchell and his wife, Paige.
Survivors include two sons, Lee Childree, Enterprise and Ashley Childree (Desirae), Naples, FL; four grandchildren, Kaylee, Riley, Chapman, and Amaris; his mother, Myrtice Glisson Childree Parrish (Bill), Newton; his sister, Cindie Hagler, Newton and his brother, Keenan Childree (Marjean), Moundville, AL; nieces and nephews, Jamie Stokes (Jocelyn), Perri Faulkner (Jeremy) and Traci Cawley (Alex); several great nieces, great nephews, and other relatives also survive.
