ECHO COMMUNITY…. Mrs. Mildred McDaniel Roe, a resident of the Echo Community, near Ozark, died early Sunday evening, April 5, 2020. She was 91.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions and CDC guidelines, there will be a private family graveside at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Phil Craddock officiating. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Roe, daughter of the late Clifford McDaniel and Verdie Lee Strickland McDaniel, was a native and lifelong resident of the Echo Community. She was retired from White Knight Manufacturing in Ozark after over thirty years of employment. Mrs. Roe was an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she previously taught Sunday School, was in the church choir, and was a delegate to the Annual Conference of the United Methodist Churches for thirteen years. She also initiated the embroidery on the Bethel United Methodist Church Quilt. Mrs. Roe was formerly employed with H & R Block as a Senior Tax Preparer for thirty years. She was a voting poll supervisor in Echo for many years. Mrs. Roe was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Roe; her son, Hulen Roe and sister, Elizabeth Clark.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Judy Register; brother, Hugh McDaniel (Bobbie); grandson, Blake Register (Shannon); great-grandchildren, Dylan and Tyler Register; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
