OZARK…. Millie Mallard Colwell, a resident of Ozark, died early Wednesday morning, January 31, 2018 at her home. She was 88.
Private graveside services were held at Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Order of the Eastern Star, Kolb Chapter #468, PO Box 535, Ozark, Alabama 36361-0535.
Mrs. Colwell was a native of Calera, Alabama and had formerly lived in Perrine, Florida and Birmingport, Alabama before moving to Ozark in 1986. She was retired as a Rural Letter Carrier from the United States Postal Service in Perrine, Florida and formerly served as President of the Rural Letter Carrier Association. Mrs. Colwell was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Kolb Chapter #468 in Ozark and the Daughters of the Nile in Dothan. She enjoyed quilting, traveling in Italy, and helping people in any way she could. She was preceded in death by her parents and all her siblings.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Harold Colwell, Ozark; two daughters, Betty Mesiek, MI and Marilyn Gilbert (Jack), Adger, AL; two sons, Vita Arcadia, Bessemer, AL and Wayne Snow (Leta), Conyers, GA; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
