OZARK…. Mrs. Doris "Miss Dot" Edgar, a resident of Ozark, died early Monday morning, January 21, 2019 at her home. She was 82.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 24, 2019 in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel with Reverend Jay Edgar officiating. Burial will follow in Old Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Edgar, daughter of the late Audrey A Pepper and Nanny Mae Smith Pepper, was a native of Athens, Alabama. She formerly lived in Dothan before moving to Ozark in 1978. Mrs. Edgar owned an operated a daycare in her home for many years. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Coffee County. Mrs. Edgar in earlier years attended the Ozark Church of the Nazarene where she served as a board member and a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed spending time fishing and could spend all day on the banks. Mrs. Edgar was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Dudley and a brother, Billy Gene Pepper.
Surviving relatives include her husband of forty years, Billy Edgar, Ozark; her sister, Dean Cagle (Bill), Athens, AL; two sisters-in-law, Nelda Pepper, Cullman and Brenda Strickland (Jerry), Ozark; brother-in-law, Ron Edgar (Jane), Ozark; several nieces and nephews.
