Mitchell Webb Sr., a retired postal worker and Army veteran, passed away on October 28, 2023, at the age of 66 in Durham, North Carolina. He was born on April 5, 1957, in his hometown of Ozark, Alabama.
Mitchell lived a fulfilling life, dedicated to serving his country and supporting his community. After completing his military service as a Desert Storm war veteran, he joined the postal service where he worked tirelessly for many years until retirement.
Known for his strong work ethic and friendly demeanor, Mitchell was loved and respected by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He approached every task with dedication and always went above and beyond to ensure that those around him felt valued and appreciated.
Outside of work, Mitchell cherished spending time with his beloved family. He was a loving husband to Hazel Webb and a devoted father to his three children: James Luckett, Mitchell Webb Jr. (Antoinette), and Ebony Kompelien (Brant). His unconditional love extended beyond immediate family as he delighted in being a doting grandfather to Zahra Luckett, Aiden Curnell, Dominic Webb, Ivory Kompelien, Zavyier Luckett, and Desiree Kompelien as well a brother to Willie-Jean Martin (Harold) and Catherine Griffin.
Mitchell had an infectious joy for life and was often found cracking jokes and bringing laughter to any gathering. His warm smile lit up the room and his kind heart touched the lives of many. He had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel comfortable in his presence and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
