OZARK…. Mr. Noah J. Harper, a resident of Dean Church Road, Ozark, died Monday morning, November 5, 2018 at his home. He was 91.
Homegoing services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 14, 2018 in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel with Pastor Douglas Cosby officiating. Graveside services, with full military honors, will follow in Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Harper was born August 18, 1927 to his parents, Noah P. Harper and Rochie Canada both of Dale County, Alabama. Noah was one of thirteen children. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and later became a Deacon at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, while residing in Lawton, OK. He joined the military in 1944 where he served until his retirement in 1972. Mr. Harper met and married his wife, Ruth Green in 1952 and as a result of their union, they had one child, Diane M. Harper in 1966. Following his military retirement and trying several different job options, he became a paint contractor in which he was able to flourish in this capacity.
He leaves behind one sister, Mrs. Mollie Brinson, Ozark; one daughter, Diane M. Harper, Skipperville; four grandchildren, Valencia N. Harper, Skipperville; Bobby D. Green, Ryshawn M. Green, and Ciera S. Green, all of Ozark; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mae Lou Harper and Mrs. Brenda Harper, both of Ozark; a host of nieces and nephews.
