Peggy Bracewell

Peggy C. Bracewell, a resident of Headland, died Wednesday afternoon, May 30, 2018 in a Dothan hospital. She was 77.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 2, 2018, in Trinity Baptist Church, 15786 U.S. Highway 431, South, Headland with Reverend Dan Sheppard officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary.

Mrs. Bracewell, daughter of the late Theron Welton Crawford and Venie Mae Woodham Crawford, was a native of Panama City, Florida and formerly lived in Slocomb before moving to Headland in 1973. She worked as a teacher's aide at Headland Elementary School for several years and later at JC Penney's in Dothan. Mrs. Bracewell always had a smile for anyone and when you saw her smile a smile came to your face. She was kindhearted and would help anyone in need. Mrs. Bracewell was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Larry Bracewell, a daughter, Carole Blount Scott, her sister, Emmie Aurelia Coe and many others. Surviving relatives include her daughter, Lynn Blount Cole (Larry), Dothan; three sons, Dennis Murphy-Blount (Katia), Fort Walton Beach, FL, Paul Blount (Debbie), Hartford and Chip Blount, Headland; her sister, Maelynn Hatfield (Kenneth), Hartford; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, her special K-9 buddy, Stormy, and a host of other relatives.

The family would like to thank her granddaughter, Hayley Chapman for her loving care for the past eighteen months.
