DALEVILLE…Sergeant First Class, Ralph Scott Moshier (United States Army, Retired), a resident of Daleville, died early Monday morning, December 9, 2024, at his home. He was 73.
Funeral services, with full military honors, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 14, 2024, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Matt Sasser officiating. Burial will be at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, Fort Bliss, Texas, at a later date. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Moshier, son of the late Ralph Mastin Moshier and Catherine Estelle Wright Moshier, was a native of El Paso, Texas. He lived in various locations in the United States and overseas while he served in the United States Army. Mr. Moshier moved to Fort Rucker in 1984 and to Daleville in 1993. He served as an Air Traffic Controller in the United States Army and he later became an Air Traffic Control Instructor for United States Civil Service. One of his favorite things to do was to ride his trike and he was a member of the Goldwing Trike Club. Mr. Moshier also enjoyed playing war games online and enjoyed history, especially the Civil War and World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice McDowell Moshier, son, Steven Barrier (Major, United States Army), and granddaughter, Ariana Moshier.
Surviving relatives include his daughters, Sonya Hendershott and husband, Troy, Dothan, Michele Harrell, Enterprise, and Angela Baldwin and husband, James, Augusta, Georgia; sons, Troy Moshier and wife, Jody, Manteca, California, Chuck Barrier (CW4, United States Army) and wife, Christy, Hawaii, and Chris Barrier and wife, Beth, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; two sisters, Laurie Linum and husband, Dave, Fort Collins, Colorado, and Jeanine Peters, New Jersey; twenty-one grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; companion, Christine (Chris) Love.
