Reta Turner Barnes, a resident of Ozark, died early Wednesday evening, February 7, 2018 in Ozark. She was 75.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 9, 2018 in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel with her sister, Minister Linda Kilpatrick officiating. Burial will follow in Newton City Cemetery. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Barnes, daughter of the late Lee Joel Turner and Bertha Taylor Turner, was a native of Andalusia. She formerly lived in Newton, Opelika, New Hope Community before moving to Ozark in 2013. Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by two daughters, Rita Faye Barnes
and Peggy Elaine Barnes and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Brenda Hudson and Bertha Scott; four sons, Edward Barnes, Wayne Barnes, Hewey Barnes, and Dewey Barnes; three sisters, Coletha Moore, Priscilla Coleman, and Linda Lee Kilpatrick, all of Ozark; a brother, David Turner;
numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Wayne Barnes, Hewey Barnes, Brandon Barnes, Bud Moore, Chris Whitlow, and Lennon Kilpatrick.
