OZARK…Reverend Frankie E. Butler, a resident of Ozark, died early Thursday afternoon, July 25, 2024, at his home. He was 75.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. (E.T.), Monday, July 29, 2024, at Patten Holiness Church, Thomasville, Georgia, with Reverend Greg Player and Reverend Marty McCranie officiating. Graveside services will follow at Zion Grove Assembly of God Church Cemetery, Meigs, Georgia with Reverend Jimmy West officiating. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of local arrangements. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. (E.T.) Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home, Thomasville, Georgia.
Mr. Butler, son of the late Willie Clyde Butler and Mary Nadine Fletcher Butler, was a native of Moultrie, Georgia and moved to Ozark in 2022. He was retired from Balfour Lumber Company in Thomasville, Georgia. Mr. Butler will always be remembered as “A Man of Great Faith” as he would read the Bible through two or three times a year. He was a faithful member of Patten Holiness Church. Mr. Butler was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed tending to his garden. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Josephine Sherrod; two brothers, Billy Clyde Butler and Bobby Lee Butler.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Janice Carver Butler; daughter, Jan Butler, both of Ozark; two sisters, Martha Tepker (Timothy), Pavo, Georgia and Liza Griner (Glynn), Ochlocknee, Georgia; grandchildren, Hayden Sloan, Gracee Sloan, Nevaeh Sloan, John Clayson Sloan, Leianna Sloan, Hope Cox, Bryson Groover, and Abram Cox; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Hayden Sloan, John Sloan, Jr., Johnathan Castanon, Justin Griner, and Troy Carver.
