OZARK…Mr. Robert Alexander Minning (Sergeant First Class, United States Army, Retired), a resident of Ozark, died Monday morning, December 16, 2024, in Dale Medical Center. He was 78.
Graveside services, with full military honors, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, December 19, 2024, in Westview Cemetery with Pastor Matt Sasser officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Minning, son of the late Joseph Minning and Margaret Tooth Minning, was a native of Queens, New York. He joined the United States Army following high school and served twenty years, where he served two tours in Vietnam. Mr. Minning also retired from Civil Service at Fort Rucker where he was Chief of the Oil Lab. He enjoyed playing golf, spending time with his family, bowling and trips with his wife, Annie, who preceded him in death. Mr. Minning enjoyed making jokes, even if they were not funny. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Mr. Minning was also preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Minning, and his sister, Margaret Hurley.
Surviving relatives include his daughter, Marie Monk (Mark), Skipperville; one son, Robert A. Minning, Jr. (Teena), Washington; brother, Jospeh Minning, New York; seven grandchildren, Johnathon Minning (Erika), Alex Monk, Breanna Monk, Sarah Luensman (Ryan), Katrina Jacobs (Jacob), Corey Martin (Jessica), and Paige McBroom; nine great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
