OZARK…Mr. Ronald Johnson (Sergeant First Class, United States Army, Retired), a resident of Ozark, went to be with his heavenly father on Tuesday afternoon, December 26, 2023, in Dale Medical Center. He was 85.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 30, 2023, in the Campground Baptist Church with Reverend Jeremy Meetze and Reverend Dr. Dennis Tew officiating. Graveside services, with full military honors, will follow in the church cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. on Saturday at the church.
Mr. Johnson was born in Storm Lake, Iowa to the late Emerald and Alena Williams Johnson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Roger L. Johnson and sister, Patricia Ricker. Mr. Johnson was a proud Veteran of the United States Army where he faithfully served for twenty-two years. He served in the Vietnam War and had duty stations in Korea, Germany, and numerous other assignments. Following retirement, he worked for a civilian contractor as an aircraft mechanic and retired after twenty-one years of employment. Mr. Johnson was a faithful and dedicated member of Campground Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, being with his family and friends, and going and doing whatever his family wanted to go or do. Mr. Johnson enjoyed bowling and was on a bowling team for several years. He was a loving, caring, and precious Daddy, but tough when he needed to be. One of Mr. Johnson’s greatest loves was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an uncle and friend to many.
Surviving relatives include his wife of sixty-three years, Pat Russell Johnson, Ozark; three daughters, Tammie Barnes (Roger), Cottondale, Florida, Sharon Skipper (Kenny), Cottonwood, Alabama, and Julia Harrison (George), Carmel, Maine; three granddaughters, Katlin Johnson (Blake), Samantha Skipper (Justin), and Haley Harrison; grandson, Alex Belflower; two great-grandsons, Wesley Kade Anderson and Parker Luke Johnson; two great-granddaughters, Braylee Fay Clark and Blakelyn Johnson; sister, Marlis Rodesch (Larry), Remsen, Iowa; brother, Johnny E. Johnson (Judy), Clautone, Iowa; a host of other family and friends, including Danny and Jennifer Hendrickson, whom he loved and appreciated.
