SKIPPERVILLE…Mr. Rusty Whitehead, a resident of Skipperville, died late Monday afternoon, August 30, 2021, in a Dothan hospital. He was 53.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 3, 2021, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Russell Hagler and Dr. Eric Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in Starling Cemetery, Troy. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Whitehead, son of the late Pete Whitehead and Mary Sue Starling Whitehead, was a native of Troy and moved to Ozark at an early age. He was a 1986 Graduate of Carroll High School in Ozark. Mr. Whitehead was currently employed with Home Oil Co., Inc. as a truck driver. He enjoyed spending time with his children coaching all sports including football, basketball, volleyball and anything else the kids were involved in. Rusty’s favorite spot was the beach and he enjoyed making people smile. He was an avid University of Alabama Football Fan and loved his family, especially his children.
Surviving relatives include his daughter, Ally Whitehead; son, Braxton Whitehead, both of Skipperville; sister, Vickie Hoffman, Samson; brother, Tim Whitehead (Sherry), Ozark; niece, Heather Andrews; nephews, Tyler Whitehead, David Whitehead, Randy Shutes, and Joshua Walker; numerous cousins also survive.
