OZARK…Mr. Terence Kelly Cobb, a resident of Ozark, died Thursday evening, January 21, 2021 at Early Memorial Nursing Home, Blakely, GA. He was 59. Mr. Cobb had been ill with cancer for several years and succumbed due to additional complications from a stroke.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Reverend Dr. Cecil M. Sanders, Jr. officiating. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. The family requests that all attendees honor COVID-19 protocols by wearing masks and use social distancing to protect our immuno-compromised family members and friends. At other times, the family will be at the home of a sister, Karlene Tharpe, 7579 CR 68, Skipperville, AL.
Mr. Cobb was a lifelong resident of Ozark and Ft. Rucker where he was born on August 24, 1961. He was the son of the late Margaret Guerin Cobb, of Ozark and Buffalo, NY and the late William Arkey Cobb of Montgomery and Selma, AL. Mr. Cobb was preceded in death by a sister, Denise L. Cobb and a brother, Ronald L. Cobb; grandparents, Cornelius and Susan Kelly Guerin and Velma Roebuck Gray and William Columbus Cobb.
Mr. Cobb was a member of the Carroll High School Class of 1980. He worked as an automotive mechanic for several years in the Wiregrass area prior to his illness. In recent years, he was able to spend time doing two of his favorite activities, fishing with friends and cheering on the Crimson Tide.
Mr. Cobb is survived by his stepmother, Mrs. Sue Wicks Cobb, Montgomery, AL; two sisters and their families, Sharon Cobb Davis (James), Montgomery, and Denver, Jennifer, and Janet; Karlene Cobb Tharpe (Luke), Skipperville and Kira and Kenzie; four brothers and their families, Stephen D. Cobb (Patricia), Fayetteville, NC, and Sabrina and Jenett; Kenneth C. Cobb (Kaye), and April, Andrea, and Ashley; David L. Cobb (Jody), and Victoria, Justin, Leslie , Ami, Melody, and Jesse; Dennis L. Cobb (Dawn), Headland, and Bethany, Aaron, and Karl; sister-in-law, Jackie E. Cobb, Hendersonville, NC, and Elizabeth and Kristy; step-sister, Cindy Wicks Porterfield (Wayne), Montgomery, and Christy and Bobby; stepbrother, Kenny Wicks (Ami), Pelham, AL, and Kennedy.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Drs. Rifat Parwaiz, Jarrod Adkison, John Dunn, Scott Charlton, and their Staffs, Lifebright Community Hospital of Early County Staff, and especially Early Memorial Nursing Home and Kindred Hospice nursing and support staffs, for their kindness, generosity, and compassionate care they provided for Kelly during his illnesses.
