Yulonda Kay "Lannie" Hagler, 57, of Ozark passed away, Thursday, November 23, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2017 at the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robbie Pugh and Rev. Roger Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-5 on Sunday.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge or the Dale County Relay For Life .
Lannie was born April 9, 1960 in Greensboro, NC and lived most all of her life in Ozark. She retired from Walmart in 2015 after 27 years of service. She later fulfilled her dream of owning a boutique, Lannie's Pretty Lil Gems Boutique in Ozark. She enjoyed traveling, the beach, gardening and spending time with her family. Lannie was named as the 2015 Ozark Woman of the Year and was chosen by the American Cancer Society as the 2016 Hero of Hope.
She was predeceased by her mother, Lillian Shirley Bowman Staples; and her father-in-law, Johnnie Hagler.
Survivors include her husband, Johnnie "Wesley" Hagler; her daughter, Amy Nichole Murdock Dunn (Nathan); a stepson, Cole Wesley Hagler; her father, Arthur Wesley (Merle) Staples; her siblings, Rhonda Staples Childers (Scotty), Kimberly Staples Tharpe (Lee): Darryl Staples and Arthur Staples; a mother-in-law, Ruth Hagler; a sister-in-law, Wanda Hagler Cryer (Shawn); several nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Ethan Tharpe, Travis Tharpe, Tristan Tharpe, Blake Childers, Alex Childers and Wes Staples.
Spencer Childers will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
